Together, we’ve raised over $60,000 to provide 30 grants to service workers, small businesses, artists, and musicians that keep Deep Ellum humming
Our mission is to uplift our beloved neighborhood and ensure a strong recovery after the many closures which impacted not only individuals, but the small businesses that nurture live music in our community. Our goal is to support the creatives and the small businesses that make Deep Ellum a hot bed of culture in this city. Deep Ellum has a reputation, and is know nationally for it’s art, culture, and music. Few places around the country can match the rich history and musical legacy that has emerged from the Deep Ellum neighborhood. Initially founded in the late 1800’s by freed African-American slaves, European and Jewish merchants, the neighborhood became the first “free zone” where races converged in the area for entertainment and commerce. Since that time it has grown into a diverse community with over 450 small businesses, and is well-known for it’s live music venues, murals, restaurants, bars and much more.
We encourage you to explore our website and make a donation in any amount to help us provide grants to small businesses, visual artists, musicians and service workers in our neighborhood. Become a sponsor, or contribute in other ways by volunteering and donating your time. If you are a member of the Deep Ellum community that has been financially impacted by the closures due to the pandemic and need help, you may apply for a grant during the next fundraising period TBA.
